What is the Austin Asian American Film Festival?
The Austin Asian American Film Festival showcases the best in Asian and Asian American cinema in order to celebrate our communities, entertain and enlighten the public, and support the creative talents of Asian American and Asian artists. This will be the 8th Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF).

Can I attend the parties?
Parties are free to staff and badge holders, and depending on capacity, tickets may be sold at the door.
When should I arrive to the screenings?
We suggest everyone to arrive at least 15-30 minutes ahead of time. Badge holders will be allowed priority seating up to 10 minutes prior to the screening, followed by film pass holders, then advanced single ticket holders. Any remaining seats will then be sold to those waiting in the “Rush” line.
How do I volunteer for the AAAFF?
Volunteer your time and talent! We need volunteers during the festival, but you can also help before the festival! Own a restaurant? Help us host a fundraising party! Have media connections? What is the weather like in Austin?
If you don’t like Texas weather, just wait a minute. You will hear this from many Texans. While Austin weather is not so dramatic, it can change from chilly to hot very quickly, so a sweater for the morning and t-shirt for the afternoon is not uncommon. In general, Austin sees highs of around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and lows around 60 degrees Fahrenheit in November.
